In 1994, Stan Moody, about to graduate from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, opened the abandoned North Manchester Meeting House Church for worship services. Over the course of time, Meeting House Ministries evolved from Sunday worship to a number of satellite and para-church ministries. Most recently, we began to collaborate with a startup Seventh Day Adventist Church that uses the building for Saturday worship and evening support groups. Thus, the church is customarily open seven days a week.
Our vision is to build a collaborative ministry as a launching pad for people with a passion for service to Christ and to people in need. Examples now in place are a pre-school, divorce recovery group, substance abuse recovery group, prison ministries, medical relief on the West Bank of Palestine, after-school music lessons, men’s fellowship and nutrition classes and videos. We have organized an Advisory Board of stakeholders in the various ministries to discuss mutual responsibilities to the building and to collaborate on shared opportunities for ministry.
