The Albert Schweitzer Academy for the Arts, located on Scribner Hill Rd. in Manchester, is continuing to grow and add to its programs. Begun in June of 2000, the Albert Schweitzer Academy for the Arts is led by a board of Directors including Pam Rasmussen, Board Chair, from Waterville: Carol Dudley of Manchester Deb Davis of Turner. The ASAA provides an after school arts program for all ages. After school programming now serves over 30 students with private music lessons, a string ensemble and a flute choir.
Executive Director, Barbara Moody, has directed the school since its inception. “We have been able to provide quality music and arts education to the community now for almost ten years”, reports Moody. “Many are anxious to take advantage of the arts in the after school program and our schedule accomodates those students attending public schools.
Classes are added on request providing there are at least five students enrolled.
